Blind Hem Foot

Many home sewing machines have a blind hem stitch, but without using this foot, the results can be crooked and puckered. Place the folded top edge of your hem against the guide on the foot, then adjust the width of your zig zag to just catch the front part of the fabric. The main part of your garment will ride against the foremost front guide. The result will be a very tiny row of vertical stitches and a professional looking hem.
